Differences between the 2016 Ford Taurus and 2016 Nissan Maxima2016 ford taurus vs similar cars

The Nissan Maxima does have some tempting numbers when you look at raw power or fuel efficiency, but there’s some things that it can’t do, which is where we see the Ford Taurus really begin to shine. For instance, the Maxima is only available as a front-wheel drive, which is an odd choice considering how much power it is packing under the hood. The Ford Taurus, on the other hand, can be equipped with a great all-wheel drive system that makes it handle like a dream. Its special sport tuned suspensions, torque vectoring control and curve control also increase its handling capabilities further.

The Ford Taurus comes standard with a pretty nice engine, but there’s some more options available to you depending on what you want the car to be. If performance is all you care about, then the Taurus SHO is the car you want -- as it is powered by the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 with 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, those requiring more efficiency can equip the Taurus with the 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 for a good balance between MPG ratings and horsepower.
